We found a small, dark protrusion on Charlie's neck, right below his ear. We took him to the vet,
thinking it might be a tick deeply embedded in his skin. Although the vet presumed it
was just a scab, she decided to shave the area to take a closer look. It was a scab
after all. However, because the shaved area was itchy, Charlie kept scratching himself
until his skin became raw and bloody, which caused it to itch even more. We put on different kinds of
bandages to help protect his skin, but they never stayed on because he continued to vigorously scratch the area with his hind leg.
We finally found a solution—A pantyhose wrapped around his
head with two openings to let his ears out. We also put a shoe on one of his
feet to prevent scratching. This not only worked, he also looked kind of cute wearing it.
