| Pay attention to me |
Despite having been mercifully freed from the corporate world, it appears I'm still beholden to 'the man' and his name is Charlie. No sleeping in, no puttering around the house or mindlessly surfing the Internet--- Charlie has created a
strict schedule that I must adhere to or else he will follow me around the house looking at me with his sad, round eyes and whine and whine as if to ask,
"Papa, don't you love me? Don't you see I have needs, like having you chase me around the house for hours on end?"

So, the day begins at around 8:00am. Charlie sits in front of my sleeping face until I open my eyes. If that doesn't work, he starts whining. Then we have a quick walk outside the house for him to do his morning biz. Next, I must feed him and then it's play time. I have to throw toys for him catch and then chase him around the house. This goes on for about 30 minutes. Finally, we go for a very long hike on one of the local trails, which I must admit, is one of the things in Charlie's schedule that I really enjoy. Since we're in the heart of the Appalachian foothills, there are a lot beautiful trails nearby. After our hike, Charlie sleeps on the couch until his Mom comes home and takes over the 'Charlie Spoiling' duties.

Depending on his mood, it takes some time to
put Charlie's harness on. |
