Love is Blind

Whenever I see Charlie, I feel like the Abominable Snowman with Daffy Duck, I just want to 'hug him and squeeze him and pet him!'

Noby and I have grown to love Charlie so much. I find myself staring at him when he's doing the most mundane things, like looking out the window or just sleeping.   Aside from his crazy cuteness, Charlie also has a solid personality.  He's curious, energetic, playful and has an overall happy disposition.  One of my new pleasures in life is when Charlie wakes me up in the morning by crawling up to my face and licking (sometimes chomping) my nose and then laying across my neck waiting for me to play with him.

Of course, there is a bit of a Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde situation with little Charlie. He is sweet, but, as I've mentioned before, there's a little monster that lives somewhere deep within him; it comes out every so often and makes him go just plain nuts.  He'll do things like run around and around the apartment from room to room at 1AM  or bark at his new stainless steel bowl for no obvious reason. He had no issues with the ceramic bowl and if the steel bowl is filled with water, he'll drink without fuss...but there's something about food and the steel bowl that drives him bat shit crazy.

However, despite Charlie's devilish tendencies, we can't help ourselves--we love him just the way he is. We can empathize with that mother who goes out of her way every week, driving down the lonely, dusty road to the state prison to visit her son behind bars. We'd do the same for Charlie.
